After training at the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in 1987 and later at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1990, Xu honed his skills in traditional Chinese painting. His artistic journey continued at Beijing Songzhuang, where he immersed himself in painting while simultaneously shaping the local art community.

Xu’s work resonates with themes of resilience, identity, and cultural heritage, capturing the essence of human connection and the balance between tradition and modernity.
